We arrived at San Fillippo after lunch and were bowled over by how beautiful it is. The hotel is a converted farmhouse nestled in 700 acres of rolling hills. Our apartment was gorgeous....and unusually set on four levels with a kitchen, lounge, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our favourite room was in the hayloft with a four poster bed reached via a spiral staircase and draped in honey coloured fabrics. Everything is plush and luxurious and very tastefully decorated. It is sublimely tranquil...but obviously not now we have arrived with two excitable children.
